A new ham radio amateur got an antenna I gave for him for free a couple of years ago on the air (recently got General Class). Hooray! 17m dipole. Cost a whopping nothing (SO-259 connector removed off a non-working CB radio, soldered to a couple of pieces of salvaged wire, LOL). New radio amateurs always ask what brand of HF antenna to buy, and how much to spend, and I always tell them to NOT pay money for antennas and just build a dipole to start. #hamradio
