Exactly five years ago, our skies filled with orange ash from out-of-control wildfires in Northern California. For most of the day, everything was dark and orange. Streetlights came on. But by 4 p.m., things started to brighten up.
This was a quick, clumsy, handheld cellphone video I took from our back deck as I rotated around to survey the neighborhood. Good enough to give you an idea of the day.
P.S. did you know that any dead body can be a doorstop if you put it in the right place.
