For a student in a Republican dominated state, the fact that a presidential executive order has no power to overrule the First Amendment of the US constitution makes no difference. If everyone in power acts as if Trump made it illegal to teach trans acceptance, then he functionally did.

I don't think it's any coincidence that the right has been working sweatily to re-define grooming and sexual abuse of children to mean accepting or affirming trans young people.
