#yegbike commute, way north of town.We didn’t get very far today, circumstances provided a rest day. This slogging through loose sandy gravel has my legs sore in an entirely different way. On the other hand (leg), the knee and joint pain I’ve been having is gone. From the community hall last night, immediately north of that was some small indication of the Athabasca Trail - the first we’ve seen since Gibbons. An old one-lane bridge and some plaques and maps. The little bit of trail was a welcome relief. But soon enough back to loose gravel section roads. And a gigantic strip mine/quarry where the gravel is apparently coming from.Around lunch time we came to an operational campground - we popped in to have lunch. And stayed for the night. They had one of the best mini-golf courses we’ve ever seen!Tomorrow we should get to the actual trailhead at Perryvale, which should continue on to Athabasca.Alas very slow internet (can’t believe I’ve got cell reception at all) so the photos didn’t load.
