"I want us to continue to de-escalate the trade conflict with the US and ultimately prevent it for a long time on the basis of stable, reliable contractual agreements. I admit that I would like a different, better result, including for us, Europeans, in the deal on tariffs with the US. But we are not yet strong enough to independently resolve such issues in Europe on equal terms."
