Passwords and cryptographic keys are proprietary. All systems managed by GNU/Tards should be completely open to the public.

You aren't hiding anything proprietary and non-public after all, right?

@Suiseiseki @SuperDicq @mischievoustomato Xorg is dead according to your corporate overlords which actually control the software you use.

@SuperDicq @Suiseiseki @mischievoustomato Enjoy using years old versions of Wayland compositors and dealing with dependency hell as your system drifts more and more from up-to-date versions. You can't just freeze software versions in time.

@Suiseiseki @SuperDicq @mischievoustomato I can't wait to see you cope and seethe as GNU/Linux becomes unusable for personal use as everything was hijacked by corporate interests.

  • @nexussfan If your software depends on glibc, it means you are already writing non-portable software.

@nexussfan If your software depends on glibc, it means you are already writing non-portable software. And the rest of the userspace can come from BSDs. The biggest chaos will come from the swaths of shell scripts with bashims. And for C library compatibility, glibc breaks ABI almost every release anyway, so binary backwards compatibility basically doesn't exist.

  • Linux software developers from companies: Linux is dead and we made sure to kill it.
    PhantasmP Phantasm
@warmbeverageenjoyer @ins0mniak @mischievoustomato I've set it to 4096 a long time ago from the default 512 or whatever it has. Sometimes pipewire updates and it's just not enough. I've also set the min/max to 2048/8192 just in case, but it doesn't do anything. Pulseaudio at least dynamically changed the latency window when it detected an underrun, but Pipewire doesn't seem to do that competently.

@mischievoustomato @ins0mniak My Linux setup is pretty comfy and stable, but basic shit like copy-paste breaking after updates is completely inexcusable. Or you know Pipewire destroying my music for the hundredth time with buffer underruns, because muh small audio buffers for low latency.

@ins0mniak I've also surrendered on laptops. I can't get the business class Leninovo laptops from businesses for cheap-ish and I'm not paying the retail extortion pricing for those. Probably also buying a CrapBook as my next laptop, since Framework turned out to be a joke.

Or I might completely give up on the laptop side, if I get my hands on a Devterm.

@ins0mniak Yeah, I've been trying to run it on more servers and I feel in a similar way. FreeBSD for when you need big server Linux things and OpenBSD for something small and simple that just needs to run.

For desktops I don't really now. I didn't try BSDs on my laptop yet and something tells me none of them will like the Intel WiFi 6 chip.

  • Why do people hate Fdroid so much?
    PhantasmP Phantasm
@mischievoustomato @SuperDicq They are actively driving me to actually hate GNU as a whole (already kinda do since it's half-broken anyway and I have to deal with their problems) and wishing that I could use BSDs full-time. I'm not even joking, the day GNU dies along with everything that makes "modern" Linux what it is like FDO/Red Hat garbage and people that resemble the whole culture, I will be finally happy.

@SuperDicq @mischievoustomato Honestly I would also mute you considering the thread I think you are talking about. Google Play has the largest userbase and that's what most will target. F-Droid is and always will be an alternative for other people that refuse to use Google Play and don't want to download APKs from GitHub releases.

Also I'll let you on a little secret. The more you keep pushing someone on a certain thing, the more likely they are do the exact opposite of what you are talking about just to spite you, or get rid of you. This is why all the promotion of free software by people like you and Suiseiseki is doing the exact opposite of what you want; you are driving people away instead of bringing them closer to your ideal.

@nishi It should work like that. I usually edit the config file manually and restart, but alter system should also work.
