I wouldn't bother talking to @Captain_Jack_Sparrow@mastodon.world . I didn't see his reply because he' was already Suspended on Babka.
This "Jews aren't real Jews" crapola isn't his first bit of nonsense and it's likely not his last.

We can, should, and must talk about what's happening in Israel and the Middle East. At the same time, we cannot blame Israel for antisemitism.
Antisemitism's rise in the West was already at record levels far before 10/7, and as we know, antisemitism pre-dates Israel's formation by thousands of years.
Beyond that it would be wrong to place responsibility for racism on the actions of any foreign government.
By way of example, AAPI hate does not fall on the shoulders of Xi Jinping, and even the claim that it would is itself a racist act.
We can vehemency despise Netanyahu and the right wing coalition in Israel for their actions- which does include their harming of the reputation of Jews, but if we blame Israel for the antisemitism, then we absolve the antisemites of their hateful conflation of Israeli's minority government with that of all Jews, or heck, even all Israelis.
If we fall into that mindset, then we've accepted the antisemitic narrative as true.
