Trump ally, Charlie Kirk has been assassinated at Utah Valley University event today.
Details are unclear, but if this was politically targeted killing its likely to be used by the Trump administration to further shift US politics towards a security state.
There will be some that will see Trump's hand behind this as a way to increase his chances of declaring military law (at some point)....
but however it plays out yet one more young man has been killed by US gun culture.

h/t FT@ChrisMayLA6 Hard to imagine it was anything but a politically motivated killing but is is highly likely Trump will use the incident to ramp up his attempts to subject the US to authoritarianism. One suspects Trump was hoping for something like this - after all, he’s been pouring fuel onto the fire for years.

@Colman @ChrisMayLA6 Lots but Trump does not care - he most probably gets perverse pleasure from the fact the people are fighting over and for him. Trump is a clear and present danger to US national security.
