@thatonewalnut @Gargron Miight as well ask how and why we were all sold the illusion of streaming in the first place. There is no streaming. There's only enforced download and wipe! That's right. You download the whole motherfucking file, then wipe it! Why? Because our corporate fucking overlords have so fucking ordained it.

It's the forced nature of it that's so irritating. Frankly, I would happily check a box that says 'delete after playing' for almost every video I watch. I'd even want that to be the default.
But I'd also like the option to keep the file without having to rely on clumsy workarounds like browser extensions.
