I know this isn't the worst thing about the filthy rich, but it's one I think about a lot.

If I somehow ended up with enough money to very comfortably support myself, and the people I care about, I wouldn't keep going. I wouldn't need more money. You hit the goal there, to not have to work on anything unless it's something you deeply care about. I can travel now, I can not stress about whether I'll make it this month. Wanting more is so fucking boring.
And as a side note, if I had extra, you could just give people money, and change their lives. Why wouldn't you?

@RickiTarr
I went on a boat cruise in Florida a few years back. We saw all the mansions owned by the wealthiest of Americans. On the cruise was a woman that used to work as a cleaner at several of the homes. She said sheβd never wanted to be rich afterwards. She said thatβs all these people worried about was their finances, nothing else. I would imagine most rich people are narcissistic. Thatβs how they became wealthy. Never caring about anyone but themselves & their bottom line. -

@RickiTarr I guess a lot of the people who make a lot of money end up mixing up the means and the end, and just keep going on trying to make more as it's just the way their mind works.
