I also do this. I have JS disabled by default via unlock Origin, and a hotkey for re-enabling it (one press for first-party JS, repeat for 3rd).
I particularly enjoy the sites which are perfectly readable but have a “Turn JavaScript on for the best experience” banner. Seems to me I’m already getting it. https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/@xinqu/115156574779674995
