My treatment of you earlier this year was unacceptable, and I sincerely apologize.
Losing the opportunity to collaborate with you was a direct result of my failure, and it's a mistake I really regret.
I've been working on being a better leader and person, and strive to be more deserving of the trust and opportunities I'm given.
