Resupplying in Trout Lake and going around Mt. Adams, the 3rd largest stratovolcano in the Cascades.

A large rock slide in progress on Mt. Adams. The mountain made many crumbling sounds during the night I camped on its slopes.

Endured a cold heavy rain in Goat Rocks (a highly eroded stratovolcano remnant) but was rewarded with views the next day. The #pacificcresttrail crosses some small glaciers and ice fields.

Leaving Goat rocks, I dried my gear out on a flat rock and watched Mt. Rainier get bigger as I approached. Mt. Adams peaked over the receding Goat Rocks.
