    On this day in 1952, Neil Peart was born in Hamilton.
    The drummer and main lyricist for Rush, he was known as The Professor for his technical proficiency as a drummer. He is often cited as one of, if not the greatest, drummer in rock history. He died in 2020.

      β€œAn even earlier nickname given to me, β€˜The Professor,’ had an an equally ironic root. … No, the Guys at Work were simply equating my demeanor with the character on β€˜Gilligan’s Island,’ played by Russell Johnson.”
