Locals rescued a stranded beluga. Since then, every morning they found a fish on the dock next to their boat. They were baffled.
When they checked the cameras, footage showed the beluga surfacing at night, gently placing the fish before swimming away!
A gesture of thanks, as it would share food with its own pod. Awww!

@gbrugman I have my doubts about this. All I can find is stories on fakebook, and they vary in their details - like a dolphin instead of a beluga. But yes it could well be true, cetacea are very smart and social.

Sadly, I know that there are posters at work (esp. on YouTube) that generate this kind of stories using AI. Usually icky sweet stories about cats or royalty, but why not belugas...

@martinvermeer @gbrugman It's too easy to AI generate these things, especially the pictures. That there are two different species with the identical story and nearly identical pictures is a giveaway.

Plus the story carefully never mentions any places or dates.. nothing you could use to verify it.
