The liberal / centrist virtue signaling around the murder of Charlie Kirk is beyond insufferable.

Have heard NYT describe it as Kirk being killed "in the line of duty". Have heard NPR reporters and interviewees talking about breaking into tears upon hearing the news. Or Washington Post remarking that there just hasn't been this political violence since the 60s.

Always with caveats about not agreeing with all of his views, but of course fiercely defending his "right" to spew fascist bigotry and inspire MAGA sycophants to violence (whether through public policy or more immediate means).

It's so pathetic. On par with with Megyn Kelly's performative (and obviously fake) crying on air about the situation. Or Glenn Beck or any of these other shithead grifters who care infinitely more about their viewership numbers or book sales than some 31 year-old college campus soapbox debate bro douchebag.

Pretty much every bit of media coverage has been working so hard to step on my schadenfreude, but they absolutely will not succeed.

This just scratches the surface but goddamn is it refreshing to see a media outlet be like uhhh, here's this man in his own words...

      https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/11/charlie-kirk-quotes-beliefs

It's very fine to not be about posting memes in the wake of someone's murder, but the revisionist eulogizing from liberal media hacks is preposterous.

On the topic of worthwhile coverage, was also looking forward to the KF analysis to drop (listening now):
