To be fair, it’s not necessarily sexual. I mean it could be, but not necessarily. I mean it probably is given this is Jordan Peterson we’re talking about, but if it were someone else, it might not be.

Maybe Freud in his primitive way, was onto something. Pioneers are rarely a finished masterpiece of their art or science. My question is, what is the purpose of this post and how does this public shaming of this particular human psychological experience benefit public discourse, or public materiality?

In a way that’s the very point. They shame people for, amongst other things, what they percieve as sexual deviancy. So, making them realise that one of their own comes up with what they would consider deviant may lead some to reevaluate their position on what is acceptable and/or what they think of him, and whether they keep listening to him. I acknowledge it’s a long shot, but anything that erodes their adherence to these rightwing ‘thought leaders’ is beneficial.

There are better things to shame him for.
