been listening to quite a bit of early house and stuff in that area lately, mostly the sort of stuff where I'm v familiar with the more well known tracks but never really listened to the full album
I'm sure these are old news to a lot of people but these albums are fantastic

it's funny as well how much i've heard over the years about house being this new and alien sound unlike anything anyone had heard before but when you listen to stuff like this you can see how the transition from post-disco / 80s rnb to house was basically seamless

though I suppose people do love to mythologise their favourite genres of music and artists as being bold and revolutionary and completely different to what came before as opposed to just presenting them as a logical progression from the earlier music that inspired them

Very nice compilation of early house music that's amazingly PWYW.
(also thanks to @pestojaguar for putting me onto it) -

friend of mine recommended this to me, you gotta buy it to hear the whole thing but I took the chance and it was well worth it
it's mostly built on a foundation of dark, kinda industrial, percussive & noisy techno but with a lot of other influences in the mix -

similar stuff to previous releases, his trademark sound that sort of blends ambient house/techno, downtempo and dubby sounds
v well executed as always though with nice energy and groove

figured it was time to give this a go
more energetic than previous stuff in a few places but still lots of dreamy and spacey more ambient tracks.
interesting balance throughout of sounds that feel big and euphoric but restrained. definitely rate it highly.

https://rivalconsoles.bandcamp.com/album/landscape-from-memoryalways excited to check out new john tejada
previous releases tended to be built around melodies or melodic fragments and very dancefloor focused, this one feels more abstract and atmospheric with those elements at the front
still some great techno though

https://johntejada.bandcamp.com/album/the-watchlinejust clocked there were a few releases by JT in the past couple years I missed, have checked them out also.
now I can see the path to this release a bit better, previously felt like quite a big departure, and there is still a leap but not as dramatic of one as I thought.
