    Fired him for THIS??

"MSNBC has fired Matthew Dowd, a political analyst whose on-air comments after Charlie Kirk’s death drew criticism, according to a person at the network briefed on the decision.

During a back-and-forth with the MSNBC anchor Katy Tur on Wednesday, Mr. Dowd remarked that Mr. Kirk had been pushing hate speech, adding that “hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions...." 1/2

2/2 "Rebecca Kutler, MSNBC pres, apologized for Dowd’s remarks, calling them “inappropriate, insensitive & unacceptable.”

“There is no place for violence in America, political or otherwise,” she said

Dowd issued an apology..did not intend for his comments “to blame Kirk for this horrendous attack.”

@GottaLaff I’m watching CNN this morning and it’s clear the networks are concerned about retaliation from the Orange One if they don’t treat Kirk like he was Lincoln.

@Robgbysea @GottaLaff I’ve already been excoriated for saying pretty much the same thing in a #Masto post. Yes, as I said in my response to the excoriation, it’s always a tragedy when a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old grow up without a father. But it still doesn’t change the fact that those who live by the sword die by the sword. If you call for violence, as he has in the past, what goes around just might come around. If pointing that out makes me a bad person, then I guess I need to own that.
