It's always nice to see a rise in any country's minimum wage. In this case it's worth noting that ¥1,121 equates to about $7.60 USD. If that seems ridiculously low, note that minimum wage in the US is even less: just $7.25 US per hour. And if you work at a job that is tipped, the minimum wage is an insulting $2.13 US per hour. Just this alone seems proof that we are living in an oligarchy. -
