OMG was reminded that a lot of y’all have never seen the OG Alien, Star Wars, Blade Runner or Close Encounters on the big screen and i’ve suddenly felt more than ancient.

@blogdiva I did not see Alien, on the big screen or elsewhere. Because. I fell asleep at Star Wars--in a drive thru--so the rest were all on VHS. Same for Blade Runner. I did not see Close Encounters until my husband tortured me--I mean, showed it to me--when I was in my forties.
I'm antediluvian, but differently.

@dnkboston @blogdiva Talking of which cut is best, Bladerunner is the 1992 Director's Cut, hands down. We never did screen that one because my business partner didn't think it would be a draw (she was wrong and I will die on this hill!), but we did discuss it.
The original studio release of that movie was a mess. Cut to shreds and given a stilted, anachronistic, film noir-style voiceover that ruined the atmosphere.
