I had a friend who’s two years my junior. One day I addressed them as “young lady,” and in response I joked “you’re two years younger, even if we’re in an elder home, you’ll still be ‘young lady’ at that time.”
Then they transitioned, she’s now a he, so that “young lady” thing will no longer work
