I spent an inordinate amount of time poking macOS' low-level Mach APIs, and especially Apple's extension to the traditional interfaces of the Mach microkernel. The problem with all those APIs is that there is almost no documentation for them. Apple has written *some* documentation but it doesn't even ship it with its OS, or host it on their website. And even the documentation that's available is quite thin and lacks specifics. 1/2
