Mitenköhän voisi arvioida koivun ikää? Lähimetsässä kasvaa sellainen harvinaisuus, jonka ympäri eivät yhden aikuisen kädet riitä lähellekään. Runko on tyvestä vahvasti kaarnoittunutta ja oksat kohoavat korkeammalle kuin metsän muut puut.
