This was one of the best system installation experiences I've had. In less than two hours, I had everything working as it did under Mint the day before, including my Python and Angular development projects, cloud sync, and Steam. Impressive! 🤩 ️ I haven't gotten rid of Firefox yet. Steam's .deb installation vanished after using it once, so I replaced it with a Flatpak. The lock screen crashes, and 'apt update' lists two unreachable sources, so there are things for me to fix. I wouldn't say that Neon works out of the box, but it's still really cool. The whole system feels great, including the smart clipboard, the emoji keyboard and so on. On the other hand, it launches apps slower than Mint. Perhaps it is because of #Wayland , but on my config, there should be 0 performance issues. Wating 4 seconds to open a file manager, and 7 seconds for a package manager feels odd. They should be there instantly. On Mint, GIMP launched under ~1.5 seconds, now it took 5-7. It's not optimal. But for now, I'm enjoying KDE Neon. Let's see if I can solve all the issues.
