@heliomass I will call some other city and have them deal with Montréal
The city of Montréal issued a new internal directive restricting communications to its English-speaking population.
Me: I’m speechless in anger. Not respecting the OLA so blatantly…

La ville de Montréal a émise une nouvelle directive interne restreignant les communications avec sa population anglophone.
Moi: Je suis bouche bée en colère. Ne pas respecter la LLO si ouvertement…

@jfmezei What they’re doing now is disrupting the same region of the city for decades on.
Berri/de Maisonneuve has been closed regularly since at least 2017!
@jfmezei I struggle with Phase 1 being in the 2020s. I think we’re at phase 100 or something. If Phase 1 took 14 years.. I will be dead before they’re done.
Maybe Gen Gamma might see the end of construction there, if they are lucky.
@jfmezei The work on that exit started in 2018. I remember walking through the station when I was working there.
It was not pleasant tbh.
@jfmezei I know.
But when is it going to be finished… is it going to be before my retirement? They started work as I was becoming an adult!
Maybe it would have been a good idea to partially close the station for the refurbishment work, and save time… probably years.
Their website has NO timeline on what’s to come…

@jfmezei Do I spy a “W. Ontario St” sign on those pictures
Reading this, it seems the exit was rebuilt in 1992… which is quite concerning that it lasted barely over 30 years.

I think that at this point, all PDA exits have been rebuilt however, so none of those original exits.
@jfmezei The press release does state that it is a structural issue with the slab and the pillars at the exit.
I thought this exit dates back to 1966, even if it was probably improved over time.
The PDA station has two closed exits. They closed another one due to security issues in February. There are only two others left.
This is a place you should always have budgeted; it’s regular fixed asset maintenance. Given the state of Berri-UQAM, in repairs for the last 15y, I won’t hold any breaths
