@pauliexoxoxo Following hashtags is a useful thing to do to start. Use the search function and on the results page (depending on how you're using mastodon (eg web or app)) there should be a little bell icon to follow the hashtag.

The more folks you follow, the more of the fediverse you see. There are lots of queer folks here, including a healthy nonbinary community (and maybe some unhealthy ones). There are lots of Toronto people, too.
