Main Site Rules
This community is intended for adults aged 18 and over.
English is the primary language of the website. Gaeilge is also welcome. Other languages are discouraged.
There is to be no homophobia, transphobia, racism, fascism, bigotry, xenophobia, ableism, nor sexism on this website. You may use curse words, but not slurs.
It is expected that users conduct themselves as adults. Users will not always agree with one another, and that is fine. However, disagreement is not an excuse for flame wars, name calling, or otherwise being unpleasant. If you are arguing a point, please provide thorough reasoning for your opinion.
Do not engage with trolls. If a user is flame baiting, please use the report functionality rather than responding.
All content submitted must adhere to a PG-13 guideline. This includes uploaded images, video, and audio. NSFW material is not permitted.
All questions and feedback relating to the website may be posted in @Comments-Feedback.
No posting of Warez, Serials, Cracks, or Keygens, nor links to sites containing such content. Do not ask for such things either. Repeated violations of this rule will result in a permanent ban.
No posting of referral links, get-rich schemes, or online voting links.
Multiple accounts are forbidden unless approved by a staff member.
Please stay on topic within threads. If a conversation naturally moves in a different direction, posts may be split into their own thread by a moderator.
Please wait 24 hours before bumping a thread.
Any content uploaded is the sole responsibility of the user. Caint is not responsible for content posted by its members.

Politics Section Rules
In order to participate in @politics, you must join the Politics group. Click here to join.
These rules apply alongside the Main Site Rules. If a rule here contradicts a rule within the Main Site Rules, the rule here takes precedence within the Politics section only.
This is an evolving document and may be updated without notice. Please check back periodically.
A three strike system is in place. Depending on the severity of a breach, you may be removed from the Politics section.
[P1] Be respectful. Disagreement is welcome, but please keep it civil.
[P2] Do not engage in heated arguments. You may disagree with an opinion, but all opinions deserve to be heard without personal attacks.
[P3] Do not incite violence or civil unrest. We ask that you keep discussions measured and responsible.
[P4] Please provide sources where possible. We also recommend using an archiving tool such as https://archive.is/ to capture articles at the time of publication.

Moderation here is intentionally lighter than the rest of Caint, though the Main Site Rules remain in effect where necessary.
We import hashtags and ActivityPub feeds from external forums to broaden the content available here. Because of this, some posts may cover a wide range of topics including politics, current events, and other potentially sensitive subjects. Reader discretion is advised.
All imported content can be replied to, upvoted, and reported as normal.
As a Caint member, you represent this community when you post. Please be courteous to everyone.

AI Content Rules
[AI1] If content has been created or assisted by AI, please indicate this clearly in your post.
[AI2] Generative AI (including the generation or manipulation of images, video, and audio) of other people is forbidden unless their explicit consent has been granted.
2.1 [AI2.1] Proof of consent must be provided within 24 hours if questioned, or the content will be removed.
[AI3] All AI-generated content must adhere to the PG-13 guideline outlined in Rule 6 of the Main Site Rules.
[AI4] If you wish to have AI-generated content removed, please email caint@caint.ie with a link to the relevant page.
These rules apply to content posted by Caint members only. Enforcement for content arriving from other ActivityPub servers is limited by the nature of the Fediverse.
