    the lights dim and the beginning to thriller starts to play as your corpse is lowered slowly down from the ceiling. a group of people come out from the sides of the stage and all begin dancing to the music as your body hangs there lifeless above them. after the song, a casket is rolled under your corpse and the lines are cut unceremoniously, causing your grotesque form to collapse unnaturally inside before the lid is slammed shut and the dancers push your eternal resting place down the ramp and out the door to the burial site, the music following them.

    I often have this discussion about DEI on this platform, and someone always responds with, “That’s not how it’s supposed to work.” And you’re right, but what happens in practice and what happens on paper are two completely separate things. The bottom line is that these lower to mid level employees are given a list of criteria and very little training in DEI itself. They’re then required to fill these slots so it looks like the company is making progress, when in reality it’s very likely they’re hiring someone underqualified. It’s true that many companies implementing DEI have seen an increase in profit margins, but I think that’s happening because DEI pushes back against nepotism—which, in my opinion, is significantly worse than hiring someone who may be slightly underqualified.

    I know someone that saying Steam Deck sucks because its running linux, that a Lenovo Legion is superior, because its running Windows, but also complain about Windows updates and disabled all updates. Like dude gets a new device and the first thing he does is turn off updates, and then stays on the stock rom. Well good luck running the 5 year old OS while you do online banking, dumbass, surely the cybercriminals would be nice to you.

    I have been out of the game for so long that I couldn’t find the first ~10 seasons of the simpsons anywhere, with many of my old caches now defunct. So I ponied up the cash. Fun fact (US), Amex has a $8 cash back offer right now (up to 12x) for Disney subs, and if you go to cancel your sub disney will offer you $10/mo instead of $17/mo for D+ for 3 months, so I’m getting my simpsons fix for $2 a month. Will cancel when the new year hits since it’ll jump back up. Though at the speed I’m going, I’ll only be in season 6 or 7 by that time. Ah well.

    yeah i dont like it either. i always thought that most people were supposed to be of average intelligence. so half of people are average, with the remaining half being split between the dumb dumbs and the geniuses
