Pro tip: water before you dig. Water the ground for a week or so before you dig, this makes it much easier to dig through, and cuts down on the excess dust.
Once you get deep enough there is literally no dust as it contains about 30% clay and is very wet

In the Midwest where it looks like you dug that hole, sure. But where I, and the previous poster, live nope. Lots of sand in the soil out here, and if you dig deep enough, you hit granite.

You could hide things in there, like gold, or fried chicken, or a copy of Windows 11, or face masks. These are just a few things you could hide in that hole, use your imagination.

I’m sorry to hear about the dog’s soon passing. Great job on the hole! Hell yes to keeping bones, I want to use the ashes of my previous dogs and friends in the forging of a sword for the best man of my wedding, I’m no blacksmith I will be commissioning.
