Man fucks up longtime relationship. Friends don't succeed in keeping him from drunk-posting to try fixing it. Onlookers feel only scorn.

So he wants to get other countries to bring their business here but also wants the foreign experts to piss off after teaching the US citizens how to do their jobs. He also, in the same post, tells them how the US will then beat them at their own game after they need to be taught how to play because they couldn’t figure it out on their own.
I’ll rewrite it for whoever actually wrote this: “We suck, and we can’t build talent domestically. The plan is to get foreigners(who, I would like to remind everyone, we do not want here longterm) to teach us how to do things because we cannot understand it on our own. Then we will quickly become better than them somehow.”

I think that an AI would’ve done a better job of making it sound like Trump.
Is it even possible to write like Trump without adding fuel to the fire that this post is trying to quell?
-
Right? He doesn’t even know what they are, and while an Em Dash isn’t a guarantee of AI, anyone who is at all concerned about people thinking their writing is AI now avoid them.
So if this isn’t AI, its someone who failed to think things through. (But its AI.)
Sidenote: wouldn’t be surprised at all if Em Dashes leave our human lexicon altogether, given the negative association they’ve received. Like spelling changes, AI might just make our writing drift away from them altogether, until AI does get exclusive use of it.
Such a shame – I love a good em dash. Gives a conversational tone while looking much better than ellipses.
-
As a former designer/typesetter/typographer, it pains me to admit that this is probably the case.
I’m no designer or typesetter, but I join you in mourning the em-dash.

I never used them that often. A standard “-” tends to do me just fine.
But it’s always a shame to be able to convey less in the same amount of characters.

I use em dashes more—as much as I can justify—because the hubbub made me think about them.
“Trump” is definitely AI here though.

Edit: defund instead of refund

“Defund”? Holy shit, they’re really completely fucking stupid haha.
And the best part is that we all know a tonne of people who have these views. We can pretend that these people are actually Russian spies or whatever but at some point we need to accept that Conservatives the world over genuinely are just stupid, angry, and short-sighted. It’s their entire MO.
