@thadah Again, I'm not familiar with the specifics; but to me, it certainly *sounds* like a "since not", and like a moderator overstepping the bounds of what the rules are meant to cover. (If not, that's probably even worse.) But that's *exactly why* a *different* moderator should always be the one handling an appeal, and the moderator who took the initial action should let the other moderator(s) handle the appeal without undue influence, interference or meddling.@lukas

@thadah @lukas Another thing that strikes me about the screenshots: *the moderator who took the initial action should not be involved in handling the appeal*. At all. (Possible exception: private discussion between moderators to shed light on why the initial action was taken.) Regardless of the merits or facts of the case; and without being familiar with the specifics of Ubuntu's diversity/inclusivity policies or code of conduct, I personally don't see why this sort of edit would be called for.
