Accessibility is not only a necessity, but in certain cases a requirement. See the European Accessibility Act for more info.

I am not fully sure if Caint requires following the EAA, but I would prefer to have accessibility options available - not to comply with any laws, but because we will eventually have users that would require them.

As this is currently a 1-man-band, it may not be possible to implement everything right away, but it is something that can be worked on.

    Themes
Caint has a number of themes available, including high contrast options, which may be more suitable for certain users. See Change the look of Caint for more info.

    AltText for Images
AltText for uploaded images is supported on Caint. When uploading an image, you will see the following text:

    ![Screenshot_20250714_124132.png](/assets/uploads/files/1752493338920-screenshot_20250714_124132.png)

After the file extension (.png) and before the closing bracket ()), you can add AltText by typing "A description of your image" so that it looks like this:

![Screenshot_20250714_124132.png](/assets/uploads/files/1752493338920-screenshot_20250714_124132.png "A description of your image")

Good AltText should describe what is actually in the image, rather than just the filename. This helps users who rely on screen readers to understand the content of the image.

    Irish Language
Caint uses bilingual Irish and English naming throughout the site, supporting Irish language users alongside English speakers.

    Site Rules
The Site Rules include a requirement for all uploaded content to be appropriate for a general audience, which helps maintain a safe and accessible environment for all users.

If there is anything else that should be adjusted to improve accessibility, please reply and let me know.
