Just for clarification: are we talking Valentine’s Day or is there a Valentine we should all know (if we don’t already)?

St Valentine. He’s pretty old, but he still gets around. The stories of him being executed in the 3rd century are exaggerated.

Also some Christmas/New Years babies. Then just the general cold months not going out in the snow and it’s not sticky, so it’s a nice time to share warmth and snuggle

We have the same phenomena in the global south which is hot af at that time, so it’s more related to Christmas/New Year drunkenness imho. Or people not working and having more time to fuck

This data analysis seems to suggest that yes, July through October have higher birth rates in the United States, with maybe 10% higher births than similar days between April and June.

There’s even a stereotype about it. Humans subconsciously tend to start actively dating in the fall. Something about having a warm body to sleep next to in the winter. I think it’s evolutionary

I’ve heard that statistically November has a lot of birthdays, presumably because of valentine’s day. I was probably concieved on valentine’s day

9 months before September is breeding season. They’re having birthdays; not celebrating their conception.

So let’s see… That’s… December. Oh. I guess it still is winter.

Cracking a window and then still getting sweaty in the freezing air so you end up catching a cold.

                                https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/births.htm

Tl;Dr August is the most common birth month, but not by enough to actually mean any significant trend. You’re talking a lead of a thousand births in a nation with 365 million people.

It’s slightly more common to be born in the last six months of the year, again, not in any significant amount.

Your shitposting is factually inaccurate and should be booed!

in the northern hemisphere december is winter, but september is certainly not a winter month in any hemisphere. so “i guess it still is winter” is an odd thing to say

december is barely a winter month. we need to shift our calendar so the new year starts on the solstice and we get a new month then too.
