    guarantees a regression to centrist parties The US’s whole political system has been drifting rightward. Our center is more to the right than 20 years ago. So it does not matter if regression to center is happening as the center drifts into the fascist event horizon. Every possible “this is why it could never happen here” is possibly a single event away from being breached, then discarded. The US has had so many of our safety checks blown through, and the only people who can now prevent it have no desire to do so, because they’re on the same team. I’m sure you will be vigilant, but it takes the whole country. And a person may be smart, but people are dumb, panicky animals.

    I’m not saying everything can be ranked. I understood your response to my last comment as a rebuttle to the idea that “any moral formula is shit from the perspective of another legit moral framework” Therefore I assumed you thought that there is some way to objectively say, “killing people is better than not killing people.” Which even though I agree with it, I’ve found I can’t prove it without using an axiom that is just my feelings. I think as a society we would need to understand consciousness to be able to have any hope of discovering an objective morality. There is a gray zone, there is an acceptable zone, and there is a line, which always must exist, and when anyone crosses it, they must be removed from society. I mean yeah I agree. It would be energy intensive to try and allow everything, so obviously we don’t allow anyone to do anything. That would be unstable. But that doesn’t prove that we have objective reasons for where we draw lines. It’s all just power and negotiation. Preaching hate on innocents is not legally forbidden (well, depends on the country), but it is morally wrong. I said something similar earlier. Glad we are all sane here.

    On the other hand I’ve seen vantablack on crumpled aluminum foil and it was in a plexiglass box. I’m sure it must’ve been incredibly black, but it was completely impossible to tell over the reflections on the plexiglass. Never mind that they mounted the fucking thing in a corner on the ceiling for some reason.

    You’re ignoring the part where I said this seems to be a memory of an earlier point in comic history for Superman we’re seeing. This version of Superman is almost certainly nowhere near that fast. He also doesn’t need to weigh more than the train for the train itself to not be able to withstand the force of him pushing off.
