Hi #fediverse. We need to talk about something.
While talking to a colleague about how I recently learned most people have never sat on a crow it came up that she has never been sat on by a cat. Like, not even once during childhood.
Another colleague admitted they also have never been sat on by a cat.
My hypothesis is that most people have at one point in their life sat on by a cat.

@theorangetheme seagulls look like someone was trying to draw a bird and gave up halfway through.
Like, tell me I'm wrong. I erased like half this seagull picture and drew one squiggly line, and a toddler could still tell this thing is a fucking seagull.

The crows here are nervous flighty things and are usually gone before I get even close to a window. My longest lens is 75mm, so it's pretty hopeless.

@catsalad Iβm allergic to cats and so have never been able to have one sit on me.
It looks super cozy, though! Iβm glad most folks have known what itβs like.

@catsalad Not only have I had cats sit, lounge, or lie on top of me, one cat actually saved my life. Kitty was sleeping on my chest, when I stopped breathing. She meowed loudly in great alarm, to wake up my partner who then woke me up.

I am more interested in the prevalence of corvids being sat upon. This just screams to be addressed.

@catsalad One of my proudest cat moments: at a friends house talking when everyone drops into silence when one of their cats,βa shy, scarred rescueβwalks up to me and sits in my lap.

@lydiaschoch @catsalad I developed a cat allergy on top of theβ¦ *counts* five or six or so allergies I already had. But I wonβt give them up, the two
ββ are family members like kids of my own.I recently read that someone who also had an allergy drank too much, ended sleeping outside in a garden chair, and waking up with the neighbourβs cat snoring on top of him, and then decided that he had no allergy any more and to let himself be adopted by a cat.
