While talking to a colleague about how I recently learned most people have never sat on a crow it came up that she has never been sat on by a cat. Like, not even once during childhood.
Another colleague admitted they also have never been sat on by a cat.
My hypothesis is that most people have at one point in their life sat on by a cat.

I'm extremely allergic to cats to the point even seeing a picture of one makes me instinctively want to vomit.
So yes of course, every cat wants to sit in MY lap and I can't let them.

@catsalad They've rubbed up against my leg. I don't ever recall them sitting on me. Just walking over a lounge, and their tails flicking. Oh, and gnawing on my nose while I've been asleep (to be fair, that one was a teeny tiny kitten). It could just be me though... for reasons. I've had babies and pooches sit on me, "sit" in the case of baby, but pooches including just their head.

@catsalad My first cat sat on me a lot (at 20). My current cat sits on me a lot (at 56). So it's been 30+ years. But omg I love it so much. Fills my heart every time it happens. Feels like kitty hugs.

Our cats will sit on either of us, but they certainly prefer to sit on my wife, even when we're together on the couch. Often they'll walk *over* me to then sit on her lap.
In their defense, she has a superior lap.

@dicenbuttons @catsalad Exactly. Our cat prefers mummy over daddy (in fairness to him, I'm not as padded up top). But he'll take either of us in a pinch, especially if it's stormy/windy out.

(I am not presently being sat on by a cat, but next to a cat who wishes upon me to be sat.)
